These are plain-language summaries for the soft-launch site, not final legal documents and not legal advice. The binding versions are surfaced at sign-up with a version stamp, and in the in-app About panel.
Privacy Policy
Netplex is built privacy-first. We collect the minimum needed to run the service, and we never collect the contents of your labs.
What we collect
- Account data — email and authentication identity (via OIDC) to sign you in.
- Failure telemetry, only with consent — when an image or topology fails, and only if you opt in: the failure type, image name + sha[:12], vendor/class/emulator, QEMU args (no configs or passwords), exit code, last 50 lines of stderr, and host CPU/RAM/disk.
What we never collect
- Your identity tied to lab contents, your configurations, passwords, or memory/disk contents.
- Anything at all if you decline telemetry — the "send diagnostics" buttons disappear for good.
Your rights
Export or delete your data at any time. Enterprise customers can choose data residency. We honour GDPR and CCPA rights; sub-processors are listed in the in-app DPA.
Terms of Service
By using Netplex you agree to these terms. The commercial subscription agreement governs paid tiers.
Licence grant
We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive subscription licence to use Netplex for the tier you're on. You may not reverse-engineer, redistribute or resell the platform.
Bring-your-own images
Netplex ships no vendor images. You are responsible for holding the rights to any device images, containers or appliances you upload. You retain ownership of your labs and topologies.
Acceptable use
No piracy, no illegal use, no abuse of the community forum or platform. We may suspend accounts that violate this policy.
Reliability commitments
A licensing check never hard-locks a running lab — there is a grace window for outages. We aim for published uptime targets on the cloud control plane and back Enterprise with an SLA.
Warranty & liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties. Our liability is capped as set out in the subscription agreement. Term and termination, and governing law, are specified there.
Disclaimer
Netplex is a network emulation and learning platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any network-equipment vendor, nor by EVE-NG, PNETLAB, GNS3 or Containerlab.
All vendor names, product names, model numbers and logos are the property of their respective owners and are used only for identification and interoperability. Netplex ships no proprietary vendor software or images — you supply your own under your own licences.
Comparisons on this site reflect our honest assessment at time of writing and may change as those projects evolve.
Open-source notices
Netplex stands on the shoulders of excellent open-source projects, used in compliance with their licences and kept as separate processes/services:
- QEMU / KVM — machine emulation (GPL).
- Open vSwitch — the virtual switching fabric.
- Dynamips — classic router emulation.
- xterm.js — the integrated console.
Full NOTICE and THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES files ship with every release. Our open surfaces — device kinds, the CLI, SDKs and the public API schema — are themselves open.
