Straight with you

EVE-NG Pro is a one-off-ish purchase you self-host forever, and if you want to own the box outright with vendor-blessed workflows, it's a fair deal - it's a mature product. netplex. doesn't ship anyone's licensed images either; you bring your own. What netplex. changes is that node count and multi-user aren't things you buy - they're in the free and Enterprise tiers from day one.

What does EVE-NG Pro cost?
Around EUR 150 per year per concurrent session, from EVE-NG's own pricing. The cost scales with how many people lab at once, not with how many accounts exist, so a training team of ten who all lab on a Tuesday needs ten sessions.
What is the MAC lock and why does it matter?
The Pro licence is bound to the MAC address of the server it was issued for. Swap a NIC, rebuild the host, move to different hardware or migrate to a cloud instance and the licence stops matching, so you have to contact the vendor for a rehost. It is not a problem until the day your server dies, and then it is.
Does EVE-NG Pro remove the node limit?
It raises it rather than removing it - Pro allows up to 1,024 nodes, which in practice is far beyond what any single server's RAM will run. The real ceiling is your hardware. netplex. has no configured cap on any tier, including the free one.
Is Pro worth it if I already use Community?
If your labs fit and your team is small, Pro buys you the node headroom, multi-user support and a support contract - that is a fair deal and a mature product. What it does not buy you is browser-native console access, a documented API, or topologies you can put in git. Those are the reasons people look elsewhere, not the price.
Can I move an EVE-NG Pro lab to netplex.?
