Fix-it guides: repair the host by hand

Reference2 min readUpdated July 2026

netplex. self-heals most transient problems automatically. For the handful of things it cannot fix from inside a container - KVM not exposed, Open vSwitch not running, a bound port left over from a crashed service - System → Logs & diagnostics → Fix-it guides gives the exact commands to run on the host, numbered and copy-pasteable.

The left nav lists every known failure mode by name. Selecting one shows when it happens (the real log line to look for) and the numbered fix, each command a single click to copy.

A port conflict on 8003/8004 - the most common one after an unclean shutdown - shows the exact command to identify what is holding the port and how to clear it, rather than a generic "restart everything" suggestion.

Step 2: Fix-it guides: repair the host by hand

These are host-level repairs - they need SSH access to the box, not just the netplex. UI. If a guide's fix does not resolve it, the next stop is "Get support and send diagnostics", which bundles the same service logs these guides reference into one report.
